Karen is a Dutch national and is the mother of two sons, 10 and 12. She is a trained physiotherapist, specializing in pediatric physiotherapy. She brings her professional perspective, entrepreneurial spirit, and experience navigating PANS/PANDAS to the Foundation Board. She is eager to contribute to a successful fundraising program that helps EXPAND achieve its goals to stimulate research, create awareness, and support educational programs for medical and mental health clinicians so they may better serve the PANS/PANDAS community. She is passionate, likes to read, and is interested in the topic of giftedness and guidance for the gifted to promote self-realization. She stays active by running, cycling in the Limburg hills, and occasionally taking up climbing. She is also happy to be found at a festival or with a special beer in the café with friends.
